ABOUT HARRINGTON

 

Located neatly between the Delaware shore and the capital city of Dover, the quaint town of Harrington has many charming sites to see and things to do! Harrington boasts an assortment of different things to do, including a full service ice skating rink, with figure skating shows, public skating, rental services, and more.

 

Another great find in Harrington is Rudy’s Diner, a 24 hour restaurant with great service, a large menu, and big helpings! It is the perfect location for late night eats! Other great restaurants in Harrington include Betsy Ross Pizza where you are certain to find the perfect slice! Stargate Diner, a great spot for a home-cooked lunch. The town also hosts five chain restaurants (Taco Bell, Subway, McDonald’s, Arby’s, and Hardee’s Red Burrito).

SHOP & PLAY
For those looking for an evening out, why not stop by the Harrington Raceway and Casino? Located on the Delaware State Fairgrounds, the venue sports a racetrack, table games, live music, slot machines, restaurants, dancing, and more! Additionally, Dover Downs Raceway and Casino is located 30 minutes north of Harrington, offering multiple dining experiences, table games, slots, a NASCAR racetrack, a horse racing track, ample nightlife, shopping, a hotel, and more.

Speaking of shopping, Delaware is known for its tax-free shopping, and for good reason! Harrington sits directly between many shopping hubs! Only 45 minutes north of the Tanger Outlet Centers, Downtown Lewes shops and boutiques, and Rehoboth Beach shopping outlets and local specialty shops. In the other direction you will find the city of Dover, only 30 minutes away. Dover offers downtown specialty and boutique shopping, as well as a large mall located across from Delaware State University.

 

GREAT LOCAL EATS AND ADVENTURES

Looking to capture a “taste-full” experience? Check out the local vineyards and breweries. Only 15 minutes north of Harrington is Pizzadili’s Vineyard and Winery. Pizzadili’s is a locally owned, grown, and operated vineyard offering delightful wine varieties in addition to catering and tours. More interested in craft brews and beer tasting? As you head south of Harrington, you will come upon the Delaware Shore and all it has to offer. With local breweries, such as Dogfish Head, you are sure to find a flavor that suits your personality! Looking for adventure? Delaware is home to many campgrounds, including Killen’s Pond located ten minutes north of Harrington. Killen’s Pond features year round cabin rentals, camping, hiking trails, a cross country trail, a fishing pond and more. In the summer months Killen’s Pond is also home to a waterpark, bringing fun to the whole family.

 

THE BEACH LIFE
Seeking to spend a day on the ocean? Delaware is home to Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, and Lewes Beach. At any of the Delaware Shore locations you will surely find more than just fun in the sun and sand. Restaurants are abundant and so is the nightlife! The famous Dewey Beach is home to over 10 bars located within walking distance of each other and always full of live music! Rehoboth Beach was voted one of the top ten beaches for families in 2012 by Family Vacation Critic. Bethany Beach sports the iconic “tiki man” as well as the boardwalk and Bethany Blues restaurant, an all around “hit”. Historic downtown Lewes is home to some of the most beautiful and oldest buildings, churches, and homes in Delaware, in addition to some of the best kept shopping secrets.
