How to Make an Entry
The Delaware State Fair enthusiastically recommends that all exhibitors download the ShoWorks Passport app and use it starting this year.
Show off your award-winning goat at the 2020 Delaware State Fair this year! There are Dairy Goat, Meat Goat, and Pygmy Goat Divisions, and even a Dairy Goat Milking Contest. Your entry must be made online through the Delaware State Fair’s website between 9:00 AM April 1, 2020 and 11:59 PM June 1, 2020.
Goat Show Dates and Times
- Youth Showmanship & Fitting Show and Market Goat Show: Sunday, July 26 at 4:00 PM
- Pygmy Showmanship & Fitting (Jr.) and Pygmy Goat Show: Monday, July 27 at 9:00 AM
- Meat Goat Breed Show: Thursday, July 30 at 9:00 AM
- Dairy Fitting and Showmanship and Open Dairy Goat Show: Friday, July 31 at 8:00 AM
- Dairy Goat Milking Contest: Wednesday, July 29 at 5:30 PM
Goat Arrival and Departure Specifications
Market and Pygmy Goats may arrive on Thursday, July 23 starting at 8:00 AM and MUST be in place by 8:00 AM, Saturday, July 25. They can leave between Tuesday, July 28 at 9:00 PM and 10:00 PM. Meat Breed and Dairy Goats may arrive on Wednesday, July 29 starting no earlier than 6:00 AM and must be in place by 11:00 AM. Animals must not leave the grounds before 1:00 AM Sunday, August 2.
Mandatory Barn Meeting for all Goat Show Exhibitors will be Saturday, July 25 at 8:00 AM – Kent Building. Weigh-ins to follow at the New Castle Building. All shows will take place at the New Castle Building.
It is your responsibility as a Goat Exhibitor to read all of the General Animal Exhibitor Rules. Find the detailed rules in the exhibitor’s handbook. Goat exhibitors must be at least five (5) years of age as of January 1st of the current Fair year (2020). Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) Training is required for all junior market animal exhibitors and goat show exhibitors.
